Dyslexia

The Dyslexia pre-diagnostic screener provides a detailed profile of the client’s literacy, processing, and memory skills. This individual diagnostic assessment provides a profile of strengths and weaknesses, helping to identify specific areas of difficulty in literacy learning. For children and young people, this knowledge can then be translated directly into an appropriate individual teaching plan.

Benefits of the Dyslexia Screener

  • Adaptive testing ensures individuals enter the test at an appropriate level and are taken out of the test if questions become too difficult.
  • Makes recommendations as to next steps in either further assessment or intervention.
  • Supports early identification of difficulties that may lead to dyslexia, ensuring timely and appropriate intervention.
  • Distinguishes between those pupils who may be experiencing general literacy difficulties and those whose difficulties are likely to be associated with dyslexia.
  • Computer-based assessment is motivating and accessible for pupils.

Dyscalculia

The Dyscalculia screener distinguishes between those who have poor maths ability and those with dyscalculic tendencies, providing accurate and reliable outcomes with British
Dyslexia Association Assured status. Strengths and weaknesses will be highlighted, with Standard Age Scores provided as well as recommendations for further assessment.

Benefits of the Dyscalculia Screener

  • Makes recommendations as to next steps in either further assessment or intervention, based on the author’s wide experience of working with dyscalculia.
  • Supports early identification of difficulties that may lead to dyscalculia, ensuring timely and appropriate intervention.
  • Allows you to distinguish between those pupils who may be suffering from general numeracy difficulties and those whose difficulties are likely to be associated with dyscalculia.
  • Computer-based assessment is motivating and accessible for pupils.

Irlen Syndrome®

The Irlen Method is non-invasive technology that uses coloured overlays and filters to improve the brain’s ability to process visual information. The screener identifies symptoms and determines how those symptoms may be impacting upon daily life. The foundation’s Irlen® Screener is trained to determine whether an individual has a profile consistent with Irlen Syndrome or not and advise accordingly.
