George
In May 2022, 11-year-old George, from Coventry, set out with the goal of raising enough money for his school to take part in the Neurodiversity Umbrella Project, to get 25 umbrellas, access to two online training sessions, and educational resources.

George’s Goals
He planned to run 26 miles, the distance of a marathon, within the month. But that was just the start! As support grew for George’s efforts, he smashed his targets for distance and fundraising, and decided to continue crowdfunding so that other schools in his area could have an umbrella display.
By the end of 2022, George had raised just under £4000! An amazing achievement, and enough to fund 10 schools to be involved in the project.
He went on to win the ‘Community Project of the Year’ award from England Athletics in the West Midlands, and inspired other ‘Roarsome Runners’ to fundraise for the Neurodiversity Umbrella Project.
Roarsome!
This year George and his Roarsome Runners are aiming to raise a total of £10,000 to support more Schools and communities across the UK with the umbrella installations for 2024.
