Chelsea Flower Show Success for 'Thinking Differently' ADHD Foundation Garden

The ADHD Foundation is proud to announce that our first-ever show garden, “Thinking Differently”, created by designer Katy Terry, has been honoured with a Silver-Gilt Medal at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Part of the All About Plants category, Thinking Differently is a bold and beautiful celebration of neurodiversity - using the natural language of biodiversity as a metaphor for the one in five people whose minds work differently to the majority.

The garden invites visitors to “think differently about thinking differently.” A uniquely shaped tree, sculptural features, and a central reflective pool come together to spark conversation and contemplation. The ADHD Foundation’s umbrella emblem - a symbol of protection, visibility and inclusion - is echoed throughout the planting scheme using umbellifers and clusters of small flowers that mimic the shape.

The ADHD Foundation is delighted and incredibly proud of Katy Terry’s visionary design, and recognises that the work doesn’t end here.

A message from the CEO

As Acting CEO Dr Lindsey Roberts explains:

“This garden is not just a space to enjoy — it’s a symbol of a wider mission. Thinking differently is a collective challenge for all of us. It’s about building a society that recognises and values difference, and this award helps bring that message to a national audience. We are so grateful to Katy, our partners, and everyone who supported this extraordinary project.”

This award-winning garden represents a milestone for the Foundation and for the growing movement to celebrate neurodivergent minds in every part of life -including the world of horticulture.
